Hey,
I was wondering, I just had an auction for a very well specialised Caldari PvP character with 20m SP and a buyout of 3.4b with no reserve, and the highest I got was 3.1b...Before i saw those type characters sell for 4b quite easily. And industrial and research characters have gone down much worse.
Is there any major underlying reason for this?

Originally by: Baun I don't know what happened ...
I sold a 19m SP Caldari PvP specialist for 4.3b and a 3m minmatar for 800m.
Now people are getting 35m SP chars for 4b.
Obviously this is not the time to sell characters.
Reckon it might be due to CCP's changes to character creation and starting off with 800k SP instead of 100k on average before?

The 700k SP extra is minor compared to the total SP of any character being sold. I don't think that's the reason.
Perhaps people have invested a lot of isk into the new ship BPOs and don't have a lot to spend anymore on characters?

So the general consent is that the prices will rise back to 'normal'? As in 200m per SP fr good PvP chars and 100-150m for industrials?
I ask cause if so i'll delay selling 3-4 characters for later

I've actually got a good idea now as to why this may be. If you've noticed, GTC prices have gone down a lot again, and imo about half of the people that buy Chars aren't buying alts but are buyign their first main with rl money, just they do it through gtc. Now with gtc being cheaper, they can't get as much money as before and hence aren't prepared to pay more?
